iriver America Deploys OAT to Meet Best Buy Mandate

Emerging Leader in Digital Media Devices Selects OAT for RFID Data Management Platform

WALTHAM, Mass. - Septermber 06, 2005 - OATSystems®, Inc., the recognized RFID framework leader, today announced iriver America, the emerging global leader in digital media devices, has deployed OATxpress to power the company's RFID tagging and data management solution. Leveraging the platform's best practices and RFID-centric business processes, iriver was able to quickly configure, test, and deploy a proven solution in advance of Best Buy's RFID tagging requirements.

OATxpress' packaged business processes made it easy for iriver to meet Best Buy's requirements based on the best practices OAT has developed with many leading consumer products companies. In addition, iriver took advantage of OATxpress' flexible architecture to run the RFID infrastructure, deployed at the company's distribution center in Southern California, from a remote server in the company's data center in Virginia. Remote management and monitoring enables iriver to eliminate the costs of supporting the software deployment within the distribution center.

"iriver selected OAT because they offer the most complete and extensible RFID data management solution for Best Buy suppliers," stated Deepak Govil, Senior Manager of Sales Operations at iriver America. "Ultimately, iriver will need an RFID data management platform capable of integrating data back from our customers to provide visibility of goods movement through the retail supply chain. With OATxpress and OATaxiom for edge and enterprise data management, respectively, OAT Foundation Suite can support iriver's future needs as we tag additional products, transition to item-level tagging, and ship to new customers."

iriver deployed several of OATxpress's best practice, RFID-centric business processes for commissioning electronic product codes (EPCs) as unique IDs, tagging cases and pallets, and verifying shipments. OATxpress' packaged scenarios enabled iriver to deploy the solution on budget and ahead of schedule.

"We are pleased that OATxpress has enabled iriver to deploy its Phase I RFID solution on budget, ahead of schedule, and in advance of Best Buy's timelines," stated Prasad Putta, CEO of OATSystems.
